Downtown
Barbershop

Sharp cuts  ·  Straight lines  ·  Fine craft

"You walk in feeling like a customer.
You leave feeling like a regular."
— A theme that comes up in nearly every review

MaryAnn Crane opened Downtown Barbershop in 1997 with a straightforward belief: a great haircut shouldn't feel rushed, and every client deserves undivided attention. What started as a two-chair shop on Great George Street has grown quietly into one of Charlottetown's most trusted names in men's grooming — without changing much about how it runs.

The shop sits in the heart of the city, a short walk from Province House and the Confederation Centre. Its regulars range from university students to city councillors. The clientele is varied. The standard is not.

Every service ends the same way: a hot towel and a straight razor finish on the neckline. It's a small detail — takes less than two minutes — and clients notice. First-timers remark on it unprompted. It isn't an upsell or an add-on. It's just how MaryAnn does it, and how every barber here learned to do it.

Client Reviews

"I came in for the first time last spring and MaryAnn remembered exactly how I liked it on my next visit. That doesn't happen anymore. This is a real barbershop — and I don't say that lightly."

"Tyler nailed my fade exactly right on the first try. No adjustments, no second pass. The straight razor finish sealed it. Best in Charlottetown."

— Marcus T.

"MaryAnn has been cutting my hair for three years. I've moved twice since then and still make the drive. The hot towel finish is something every barbershop should be doing."

— David L.
